New in 2026: three updates for the VIBRA5
The VIBRA5 platform has been expanded with automated reporting, support for external sensors, and a new MEMS cone. Here's a quick overview of what each update brings to your project.
Profound Portal
Automated reporting
Set up a daily or weekly report in the portal and receive measurement reports automatically in your inbox. No more manual exports.
Every report includes a peak significance chart per object and a status overview per measurement point, including peak velocity (mm/s) and dominant frequency (Hz).
Hardware
Connect an external sensor
The existing connector port now supports external sensor modules. The first available module is the external MEMS sensor with a cable up to 100 metres, ideal for pipeline monitoring and structures at a distance.
The sensor shares the same measurement specifications as the VIBRA5 itself. All data appears in the same dashboard and on the same timeline. The external sensor is currently in development and will be available soon. Existing units can be upgraded once the sensor becomes available.
Extended deployment with external battery pack
Using a waterproof Y-splitter on the connector, you can run an external sensor and a battery pack simultaneously — ideal for long-term or permanent monitoring deployments.
Accessory
The MEMS cone
The push-in MEMS cone is pressed directly into the ground, similar to a penetration test cone. This allows you to measure vibrations in locations where a standard setup won't work, such as basements, parking garages, or confined spaces.
The cone connects via the same connector port. Data is automatically sent to the Profound Portal and appears on the same timeline as all other measurements.
