We are proud to introduce the Wave Hammer for properly testing large diameter concrete piles.
The Wave Hammer is a brand-new accessory for the Profound SIT-series. With a SIT system you can accurately and efficiently verify the integrity of foundation piles after installation.
For piles with a diameter larger than 50 cm or over a meter, now you can use one of the three newly designed Wave Hammers to perform pile testing. With its unique drop-catch design the Wave Hammer generates a constant, highly repeatable wave in the pile. The Wave Hammer generates the optimal duration of the impact wave for a maximum determination of pile defects. A “standard” smaller hammer generates an impact that is too low for an optimal resolution. Profound introduces three Wave Hammer models for testing a range of large diameter piles.
Drop the Wave Hammer in the centre of the pile head and catch the hammer upon rebound. Measure the response on the pile head with the SIT-accelerometer. The SIT system presents a measurement signal real-time on screen, enabling a direct check of the quality of the measurement test in the field.
Tests are in full accordance with the standards and codes ASTM D5882-16, EA-Pfähle, AFNOR NF P94-160-2/4, CUR-Aanbeveling 109:2013.

Sonic Integrity Testing (SIT) is a widely used measurement method to check the integrity of concrete foundation piles. This Low Strain Impact Test is a quick non-destructive method to reduce the risk upon failure of cast-in-situ or prefab piles. More information here.
