VIBRA5 · Product update 2026

Three New Features for Smarter Vibration Monitoring

The VIBRA5 platform has been expanded on two fronts: more sensors you can connect, and more powerful capabilities in the Profound Portal. Here is what is new.

What's new

Less manual work. More data. More places to measure.

At Profound we continuously develop the VIBRA5 based on real-world feedback from construction sites. This update covers three concrete improvements: automated reporting from the Profound Portal, support for external sensor modules, and the new push-in MEMS cone for hard-to-reach locations.

The updates

Three updates for the VIBRA5+

All new features feed into the same dashboard, the same timeline, and the same reports, regardless of which sensor collected the data.

01
Profound Portal

Automated reporting

Set up a daily or weekly schedule in the portal and receive measurement reports automatically in your inbox. No manual exports needed.

Every report includes project information, a peak significance chart per object, and a status overview per measurement point with peak velocity (mm/s) and dominant frequency (Hz).

Peak significance per object Obj 1 Obj 2 Obj 3 Obj 4
0 50 100 Norm 100% 00:00 06:00 12:00 18:00 24:00
Switch between Daily and Weekly under Reporting in the portal. Previous reports can be downloaded at any time. Timestamps are automatically adjusted for your project's timezone.

Hardware

Connect an external sensor

The connector port now supports external sensor modules. The first available module is the external MEMS sensor on a cable up to 100 metres, ideal for pipeline monitoring and structures at a distance.

External MEMS sensor connected to the VIBRA5

The sensor shares the exact same measurement specifications as the VIBRA5 itself. All data lands in the same dashboard and on the same project timeline. Existing units can be upgraded; from May 2026 this is included as standard.

Extended deployment with an external battery pack

Via a waterproof Y-splitter you can run an external sensor and a battery pack simultaneously, which is ideal for long-term or permanent installations.

External battery pack extends deployment duration
On the roadmap
Soon Displacement / tilt sensor (inclinometer) for deformation and sheet pile angle monitoring.
In dev Crack meter (potentiometer / LVDT) for crack growth monitoring in monuments and structures.
03
Accessory

The MEMS cone

The push-in MEMS cone is pressed directly into the ground, similar to a penetration test cone. It lets you measure vibrations where a standard setup will not work.

Push-in MEMS cone with connection cable

Particularly suited for basements, parking garages, and areas with limited connectivity. It connects via the same connector port, so data flows automatically into the Profound Portal on the same timeline as all other measurements.

Because the cone, the external sensor, and the VIBRA5 all share one platform, your monitoring stays organised: one login, one dashboard, one continuous timeline, regardless of which sensor recorded the data.
